Open Question: honey moon to Jamacia? HELP?

My soon to be husband and I want to take a honeymoon away from our kids and have lots of one on one time together, finally. We have been together for 15 years and we are in our very early 30's. We want to go to Jamaica, but neither of us have been out of the country, We don't mind waiting a few months to go on our honey moon. We have no idea where to start. I have been looking on line but I don't know when the best time to go is i.e bad weather months, etc. We have heard the Nigrel is the best and that Ocho rio is the best and also the worst for both. How to we get to hotel from airport, someone said there is a bus. I'm terribly confused. Does anyone have anything that I should know or any ideas that will help this be an easier process. Also we are not well off and plan only to spend 5-6 thousand at the most. Any other ideas or comments are very welcomed, unless you are going to be rude.
